Our Trip to Bray (Ireland)

DAY 1, Friday the 5th

We left from La Cabrera really early in the morning but our flight was incredibly delayed and we didn’t make it to Bray until around 16:00. So we only had time for a little walk to the station and the school there, as those were our meeting points for the week.

DAY 2, Saturday the 6th

We spent all day in Dublin! We visited Dublin Castle, Trinity College, we walked by the river Liffey and enjoyed the views from its bridges and strolled through Dublin’s streets. We got on a double decker bus all the way to Phoenix Park, where you can see deer, only we weren’t so lucky… To finish a very exciting day, some of us got to listen to some live music at the Molly Malone’s. It was brilliant!!

DAY 3, Sunday the 7th

We visited some of the closest towns, Sandycove, where we saw some seals near the coast, and Dun Laughaire, where we enjoyed some nice unexpected coffee! We also visited James Joyce Tower and learnt a few intriguing things about this famous Irish writer. We were very lucky with the weather and had the chance to try out some international dishes at the International Food Market that was being held that day.

DAY 4, Monday the 8th

This was the only day that we had class. We met at BIFE (Bray Institute of Further Education) and had an Irish teacher for the morning. The school has some very interesting vocational courses and great facilities. In the afternoon we had some rain and couldn’t have the Treasure Hunt that was programmed, so we went straight to practise some Irish dancing. It was very difficult for us but it was even more fun!! We had a good laugh!

DAY 5, Tuesday the 9th

This was our second day in Dublin, we visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral and other places we hadn’t visited on the first day. We learnt about the Irish revolution and stood right where it all began, at the General Post Office. We had some more to go shopping, stroll aroung St Stephen’s Green or try another pub!!

DAY 6, Wednesday the 10th

Our last day…. Our host families gave us a lift to the school, where we got on the bus and went to the nice villace of Dalky, where we went on a intersting tour at Dalky Castle. We learnt a lot about old time hygine and medicine! After this, the bus took us to the airport in Dublin and a few hours later we were happily back home. We all have some fantastic memories to keep…
